Recently, one of India’s most trusted governmental bank SBI leaked data of millions of its customers. Obviously, they didn’t do it, but it all happened because of their unprotected server. It was not that much highly secured, that’s the reason a huge data got leaked in the past few days. Including transactions, bank balances and financial information of a lot of customers.

Being India’s most trusted bank, SBI counts in the top listed companies in the Fortune 500. But still, the server was too easily accessible for everyone who knew where to access all those data. Now, this was not for a long time, the server was recently accessed that resulted in a huge data leak.
We all know, SBI has a popular option called ‘SBI Quick’ by using which anyone can access their bank information by leaving a message or making a missed call on a certain bank number. The bank’s server then replies the received message by matching the Account Number with the registered mobile number. If they’re matched, the person receives a text back with available balance information of his account.
Also, one can easily get to know about the last five transactions and block his ATM Card by using their RMN. But people aren’t that much aware of this, but most of them know about how to receive bank balance details on their phone.
In the past few days, the server was not protected and it allowed anyone to access all data. That was a real unprotected database which got leaked. It was showing all of those text message details of all customers who were making text message request.
Even there were some daily archives of past few text messages which leaked a huge data of December too. It is really bad news for such a big trusted bank to deal with.
