As per the minister of state for electronics and IT, S S Ahluwalia over 100+ Government websites hacked and Reported to Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, approx 74 websites hosted on NICNET and managed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) were hacked during the year 2018

From then the Indian Government start taking necessary steps to Avoid or Prevent Future Cybercrimes, We can’t hope for zero cybercrime but it can be avoided

As per the Microsoft’s Report, A large-sized enterprise in India loses an average of $10.3 million due to cyber attacks and a mid-sized organization an average of $11,000 annually

Fake call centers In India

In India For stealing a person’s information or his/her Banking detail Most preferable Way Used by the attacker is a Fake call center, they call the victim and try to pretend that they are calling from their bank and asks for their banking details, Adhar card details, One Time passwords for transactions

recently in grater Noida, 11 people were arrested for allegedly running fake call centers, They had allegedly set up a fake company by the name of vintechjobs.com.

they arrested them under IPC sections 420, 467, 468, 471 for fraud, forgery of valuable security, forgery for the purpose of cheating and using a forged document as genuine
The group of 11 people had stolen data of unemployed men and women from a well-known job portal. They then launched a company and they demanded a registration amount of ₹5,000 from unemployed persons. then they ask them to send them their biodata and, after a few days, they send them fake job offer letters

Sim Swap Cyber Attack

SIM swap is a type of phishing attack that causes a serious threat to the persons and bank security, cause with access of victims sim card attacker can bypass OTP (one-time password) security easily, Attacker can be done transactions from victim’s bank with Access of SIM

In May, Hyderabad Cyber Crime police received a complaint from a person stating that he had received a message from a mobile service provider asking him to change settings of his phone to get the good mobile network. When the person who complaint pressed 1 on his mobile phone, within seconds attacker got access to SIM Immediately, then the entire amount was withdrawn from the complainant’s bank account.
